Happy Holidays (And Many Apologies)

Wow.

I know, I have been gone ages and ages and ages. I am very, very sorry about that. Before I start, Happy Holidays!

The first part of my absence can be explained by NaNoWriMo, which basically ate my life for a while there. I did finish my novel, though! With 55k, in fact (not to brag or anything :)). Unfortunately, my novel is far from finished. Like, I beat the goal, but am embarrassedly far away from the end of my story. Thus, NaNoWriMo has continued to eat my life, in my attempts to actually finish the story.

I'm back though, at least temporarily. Now that I'm on winter break (Huzzah! How are everyone else's holidays going?), I've tried to revert to doing fanfiction and the usual routine. I've barely made a crack in my update list though, so I'm thinking it'll be a while before I actually get back to working on the novel... Let's hope for the best, though!

For another status update: the podcast. Mmm, I don't know. Savannah (ShadowPalace) and I tried to record a second episode, but it didn't turn out so well. We may keep at it, we may not. We're both so swamped right now (or we were, until vacation started) that a part of me doubts we'll ever have the time for it. We might, though! Stick with us and you'll see. However, I feel obligated to advertise the podcast I worked with THG. It's a show devoted to Hunger Games alone, so you gotta like those, but it's far more professional than the i-chat show Savannah and I did :). It's even on itunes! I'm only in the first two episodes, not the third (though the third hasn't been released yet), but I hope I'll be in more in the future.

I'm going to try and update Bread and Butter tonight, but I can't make any promises. It really depends on how much of my essay I write :P.  However, I am going to try and do a sort of "decade in review" post later tonight/tomorrow/next few days if I get the chance.

Some miscellaneous thoughts:
-Go buy the Ragtime soundtrack on itunes. Like, now. There's none of the current revival (and it's closing in six days! *sob*), but the old ones are equally amazing. I just saw the show, and it absolutely blew my mind. I especially recommend "Your Daddy's Son", "Journey On", "He Wanted to Say" and "Make Them Here You"

-I saw the movie A Walk to Remember yesterday. I have a feeling it was supposed to be sad (and don't get me wrong, it was a decent movie), but I just had trouble believing it. Thoughts?

-I'm in the midst of reading Twilight. I know, I suck. BUT, I do still hate it (doesn't that redeem me a little?). I'm just reading it so I have more to criticize :).

-Does anyone have any interesting interesting New Year's resolutions? Mine center around finishing my novel and getting prettier, as they always do, but does anyone have any particularly original ones?

Anyway, I've actually got to run. I'm supposed to do homework now, and bake peanut butter cupcakes. I'm attempting to make a full-fledged dinner for my parents tonight, in fact, including: pasta, cream sauce, mushrooms and bacon! I'm psyched!  Okay, so, I shall try to return soon! I'm actually really psyched to do the decade-review thing.

Love,
Abbie
